In summary, Palmilla Cocina Y Tequila is a must-visit for those seeking an exceptional dining experience in Hermosa Beach. With its diverse menu, thoughtful service, and welcoming atmosphere, it’s clear why this lively spot is loved by both locals and visitors alike. Come for the food, stay for the vibes, and don’t forget to indulge in their delightful desserts, like the luscious churros that are a crowd favorite!

We really enjoyed the food portions and the presentation was awesome. Should take a picture and hang it on the wall. Shrimp fajitas were spicy as we did not expect it to be. The combination plate was very generous and had to take it home. Staff was incredible as they were attentive. Will come back after a walk on the Strand.

Andrew was our server and was great!! He was very attentive and made food recommendations when needed. I got the asada con salsa! The meat was sooooo good !! I had a couple of friends try it and they loved it so much they got it the next time we went. The tomatillo rice has cilantro in it, so I made the change to the regular rice. The rice was okay. It could be better if it was more fresh (in my opinion). My friends preferred the cilantro rice over the regular but that's because they like cilantro. I got the side of the roasted veggies. The veggies were okay, a bit bland. The main star of the show was the steak !!!! So good. One other thing, they charge extra for pico de gallo $2.50 and the burrito green and red sauce $4.25. So just in case you want to get those, be prepared for that. The spicy cucumber margarita is also delicious!!! The churros were amazing!!! They are a bit big too which is good for the price. I have been here twice! Once on a weekend night (very busy) and weekday (not as busy). Both times it was a big party so they'll automatically include an 18% tip as most places do. There was plenty of street parking. Not sure if they validate for the parking structure but I don't think so.

Best carne asada I ever had. Our waitress was sweet, she saw I didn't like my drink because I didn't drink and she told me since I didn't like it/ drink it she wouldn't charge me. Vibes are cool

Beautiful night to sit outside and enjoy the great food at Palmilla. Peter was a great waiter. if you order the wild Mexican shrimp enchiladas be sure to ask him what Gordon Ramsey says about the sauce.

The most amazing date night experience that my husband and I have been on in a long time! We were able to be seated with no reservation on a Friday night, which to be honest the hostess was so accommodating as the place was already pretty packed! She did kindly let us know she would be happy to seat us but did have a reservation at 7:00pm (we arrived a little before 6:00pm) and we were thrilled to be accommodated. The patio seating although crowded was warm on this particularly cool night with their outdoor heaters, the seats were comfy and although at the small two person table because they do not crowd the table with decor or condiments it was the perfect fit! Our waiter was an absolute doll, and helped us choose our plates - the drinks were phenomenal and I enjoyed a watermelon mojito! The food was fantastic, everything had wonderful flavor and tasted amazing! We will absolutely be back! I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff either everyone was sooooo kind!

The Mrs. and I had dinner tonight at Palmilla Cocina Y Tequila in Hermosa Beach. We arrived around 7:30 and the restaurant was very quiet. The hostess sat us at a small booth which was perfect. She then told us we would get some warm house made tortillas. They were served with salsa, avocado salsa, and cinnamon butter. Eric arrived to take our order. We started off with a house margarita. It seemed to arrive within 5 minutes of us ordering it. From there we moved on to the Ceviche de Pescado Blanco which was made up of seabass, tomato, jalapeño, and avocado. It was good. Maybe just seabass isn't my thing but it tasted a little fishier than what I'm used to. It was also served with banana chips which were good. For our second and final dish, we ordered the Caesar Salad with Chimichurri Filet Mignon. The steak was cooked perfectly but I don't know if marinating it in Cimichurri sauce is a good thing. It caused the dressing to have a bitter taste to it. The service we received from Eric was great. Overall we had a great experience but maybe Palmilla's take on Mexican is not our thing.

Geesh, where do I start!! This was probably the BEST birthday I have ever had. My heart is so full of gratitude. First and foremost Austin took EXCELLENT care of us. His service, attention to detail, drinks and organization are top notch. JD, the GM, is the man! His enthusiasm is infectious and you can tell he has a deep passion for hospitality. Abbey and Corey up at the main bar will give you the best service you've ever experienced. The food was delicious! Filet mignon, appetizers that ranged from fresh made guacamole, queso fandido, YUM!!! Don't forget to add the chorizo to the queso. All their drinks have fresh made juices and hand muddled to your specifications. I chose the cucumber, cilantro, mezcal margarita with the tajin rim and WOW! Thank you again Palmilla and their amazing staff. You're the BEST!

Keep in mind when reading my review, we went on a Saturday @ 11am. Food: you get complimentary (warm) tortillas that are very good. They also come with hot salsa, honey cinnamon butter and avocado salsa. I ordered the pollo asado, while my wife ordered the papas raja hash with short rib. My tacos were good - however, if you don't eat them quick the sauce will make the tortilla really soggy/ it'll rip apart. That said, the taquitos we ordered for our son were really good (super crispy with braised short rib). My wife's hash she said was also amazing and a perfect mix of savory and "fresh" due to the avocado. It's also a pretty big portion where she was able to only eat half since it's so dense. Service: quick, friendly service. Once again, we went early so your mileage may vary depending when you come. That said, no reservations were necessary. Ambiance: definitely a fun looking spot. We've seen it on the pier before and it always seems to be lively and they have a nice outside patio. All in all a good spot, with more than fair prices, that we would be definitely happy returning back.

I love this place just as much as I love their sister company, Escalante Cantina! I stopped by around 6:30 to pick up a to-go order of my favorites: the chicken suizas enchiladas and shrimp taquitos. While I waited, I treated myself to a passionfruit lemon drop. The bartender was incredibly engaging--truly the life of the party. It was a nice crowd, and with food this good, you really don't need much else. I've added some pictures for you to check out. I highly recommend visiting this spot. It's conveniently located right off the pier, with the water just steps away. Great food, lively vibes--you can't go wrong!
